Shults Ford of Harmarville might be located in Pittsburgh, but we’re not the only reason you should pay this great city a visit as soon as you can. Pittsburgh is also home to a wealth of delightful and unique locales and to-dos, enough to keep anybody happy for weekend after weekend.
For starters, Pittsburgh natives know how extensive the bike trails around here are. If you’re an avid cyclist or just a casual, Sunday-afternoon biker, you’ll love to try your two-wheels on the many beautiful bike paths around the city. And while you’re out-and-about on your bike, park it and take a ride up the Duquesne Incline to get the most picturesque views of our City of Bridges. Then, come back down to lake-level and take a ride on one of Pittsburgh’s famous river ferries for dinner and drinks.
If you’re a little more indoors-y, many amazing museums happily call Pittsburgh home, like the Carnegie Museum of Art, a nationally-renowned art museum; the Carnegie Museum of Natural History (the kids will love the giant Dino skeletons); the Carnegie Science Center;Frick Art & Historical Center; and the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh.
There is even noteworthy stuff for the history buffs in town, like the revolutionary Fort Ligonier and the Flight 93 National Memorial. Plus, right outside the city, you can pay a visit to one of the most famous pieces of architectural art in America: Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater house.
